Alpha Tau Omega - ATΩ
Alpha Tau Omega was founded at Virginia Military Institute on September 11, 1865 with a goal of reuniting the North and South in the first nationally founded brotherhood after the Civil War. Founded on Christian principles instead of Greek, Alpha Tau Omega (also known as ATO) has a greater purpose than just a social group. The national Fraternity has over 140 active chapters and 200,000 members around the nation. ATO is America’s leadership development fraternity and offers programs to help members develop and expand valuable leadership skills. After initially returning to campus as a colony in the Spring of 2012, Alpha Tau Omega has been a fully chartered and recognized member of interfraternity council since October 19th 2013. The current colony at Texas A&M was re-established on March 2, 2012 and was originally chartered in 1976.
