Kappa Alpha Order - KA

Kappa Alpha was founded in 1865 at Washington College, now Washington and Lee University. The fraternity was conceived by James Ward Wood and founded by William Nelson Scott, Stanhope McClelland Scott, and William Archibald Walsh. General Robert E. Lee is accepted as the spiritual founder of the Order and the basic tenets he himself held dear have remained the foundation of membership - reverence to God, duty, honor, character and gentlemanly conduct. The Epsilon Delta chapter at Texas A&M was founded in the spring of 1978. Currently the fraternity has over 125 undergraduate chapters. Kappa Alpha is committed to MDA as the national philanthropy. The colors of the fraternity are crimson and old gold and the flowers are the magnolia blossom and the red rose.
