HISTORY

After six disgruntled members withdrew from Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, the embarked upon the founding of Sigma Chi in 1855 at Miami University in Ohio. It was one of the first of the men’s general fraternities to begin a fraternity-wide service project and the first to sustain such a project over the years. The Eta Upsilon Chapter was founded at Texas A&M University on February 21, 1976. Currently the fraternity has 217 undergraduate chapters and 140 graduate/alumni chapters. Eta Upsilon is committed to hosting Derby Days. The colors of the fraternity are blue and old gold and the flower is the white rose.
